For 10 seasons, the Bates family of Tennessee starred in a WeTV reality show called Bringing Up Bates.
The show was canceled in January, but the members of the Bates family are still popular and beloved figures on social media.
So the news that 24-year-old Carlin Bates has been hospitalized with a serious medical condition has resulted in widespread anxiety and an outpouring of support.
Carlin welcomed her second child, a boy named Zade, back in March, and she’s been suffering from some truly frightening ailments ever since.

Over the weekend, Carlin was hospitalized when a seizure-like episode caused her fall backward and hit her head during a church event.
Bates is currently recovering from a serious concussion, but the root of her current medical woes remains a mystery.
According to updates that she’s offered on social media, Carlin’s doctors believe that she has suffered from an undetected condition for her entire life, and her symptoms were triggered by her difficult delivery in March.

In the months since, Carlin has suffered several seizures, but this is the first one to result in any major injuries.
While several other episodes have led to Carlin being hospitalized, this latest seems to have sparked the most concern among both the Bates family and their fans.
As The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reports, Carlin’s husband, Evan Stewart, has the disturbing habit of videotaping his wife’s seizures and posting the results on social media.
“It’s happened a lot and it continued to get worse; seizures, passing out, everything,” Evan told viewers during one recent video.
“It’s been terrible. Then [she will be] sleeping and resting for the next day [after an episode] over several days after one,” he added.
“They don’t necessarily know whether it’s my brain triggering them like epilepsy, or my heart or some other reason,” Carlin chimed in.

Carlin recently revealed that she’s undergone considerable testing, but her doctors are still unable to pinpoint the cause of her condition.
Following one recent test designed to detect abnormalities in your brain waves, Carlin feltencouraged enough to go off ofher anti-seizure medication for a full month.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before her symptoms returned.

“We were like, ‘Wow! Maybe the Lord just took it away!’” Evan said before revealing how heartbroken the family was when Carlin suffered another attack.
The latest incident took place during a Vacation Bible Study event at the Bates’ church.
“Our pastor’s wife told me ‘I literally saw your head bounce off the concrete!’” Carlin recalled.
Not surprisingly, fans are very concerned about what might happen the next time Carlin suffers a seizure.

“As a retired nurse, I am very concerned about Carlin,” one person wrote in the comment section of the video.
“She is so slow to speak at times and just not herself at all.”
“Seeing Carlin with the blank stares breaks my heart. I’m hoping you find answers soon,” another fan chimed in.
Our thoughts go out to the Bates family, and we hope that doctors will soon be able to provide Carlin with some answers as to the cause of her condition.
