All grown up?
He’s getting there at least.
On Thursday, Prince William and Kate Middleton released a new portrait of their eldest son in celebration of his upcoming birthday.
“George is turning 9!” the following photo was captioned on social media, complete with a birthday cake and balloon emoji.
As you can see above, the snapshot depicts this young prince smiling on holiday — and was taken by his very famous mother, according to a statement from Kensington Palace.
The Duchess of Cambridge has proven herself to be quite an avid photographer over the years, often taking photographs of her young family celebrating major milestones.
Earlier this year, for example, Kate and William uploadedd a photo of their youngest son Prince Louis laughing on a beach in Norfolk taken by Kate in order to celebrate Louis’s fourth birthday.
This went viral on April 23.
Prince George, meanwhile, is third in line to the British throne behind his father, William; and grandfather, Charles.
Prince William and his spouse have released official portraits for every one of George’s birthdays.
When he turned 1, they issued a set of beautiful photos of him and his parents taken at London’s Natural History Museum at a butterfly exhibit.
Last year to mark George’s 8th birthday, Middleton also got behind the camera for a shot of the future monarch sitting on the hood of a car… grinning for the camera in a blue polo shirt with orange stripes
He really is a very cute kid.
And a busy one of late.
Prince George made his Wimbledon debut this month to watch the men’s final with his parents, sitting front row in the Royal Box at Centre Court looking sharp in a suit and tie.
Heck, he even got to hold the coveted trophy when the family met winner Novak Djokovic.
It’s good to be the future King, you know?
Later this summer, Kate and Prince William are planning to relocate from Kensington Palace to a new residence about 30 miles west in Berkshire, the county that houses the Queen’s primary residence, Windsor Castle.
It has been widely reported that the family will occupy Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate, although that is unconfirmed.
It does mean, though, that George and his two siblings will also start new schools in the fall.
We doubt they’ll have trouble making new friends.
