This month, Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar welcomed their third child.
In addition to making them a family of five, Baby #3 is also their rainbow baby after last year’s miscarriage.
Now, Jill is updating fans with details about their third son.
Oh, and she also has pictures of the precious newborn.
On Thursday, July 21, Jill and Derick Dillard shared the first photos of baby Frederick Michael.
Most of the photos of “Freddy” are on the couple’s family blog.
However, Jill made sure that her Instagram followers could catch one glimpse of Freddy.
“In case you missed our blog post last week, ‘Freddy’ Frederick Michael Dillard is here!” Jill wrote in the caption.
“He was born 7/7/2022 at 5:16pm,” she revealed.
Jill wrote that Freddy took his first breath while “weighing 7lbs. 6oz. and is 20 inches long.”
She also opened up about how she and Derick selected their baby’s name.
Jill wrote: “Frederick means ‘Peaceful Ruler’ and Michael means ‘Gift from God.’”
“The name Frederick also holds special meaning for us,” she then added.
Jill explained that the name is special “since it’s Derick’s name with ‘Fre’ added to the front.”
She explained that these combine “to make ‘Fre-derick.’”
“Similarly, Derick’s name is a variation of his late dad’s name, Rick,” Jill illuminated.
Derick is a name “that his parents created by adding ‘de’ to the front of Rick to spell, ‘de’-‘rick.’”
Jill explained that this is a name “literally meaning son ‘of’ (de) Rick.”
“We were excited to settle on the name Frederick,” she gushed.
“And,” Jill emphasized, “incorporate both Derick’s and his dad’s name.”
They did so “by just adding ‘Fre’ to the beginning of Derick’s name.”
“Frederick was set to arrive later in July,” Jill acknowledged.
“But,” she shared, “he decided he wanted to come a little early.”
Jill pointed out that she gave birth to Freddy “the day before big brother Samuel’s birthday!”
“So,” she explained, “we had our planned C-section a bit before originally planned.”
“Both mom and baby are healthy,” Jill announced.
“And,” she expressed, “we are all happy to be home together!”

Jill celebrated her impending birth several weeks ago with a baby shower.
Her cousin, the “rebel” Amy Rachelle King, hosted the party.
Conspicuously, almost none of Jill’s actual siblings could make it … but the family insists that this was coincidence.
When everyone else in the family has “other plans” for something that they’d have to expect, it’s kind of suspicious.
But Jill has been taking steps (small ones, but steps) to distance herself from the abusive cult of her childhood.
She has gone to therapy. She’s sending her kids to real schools. And she has acknowledged how toxic Jim Bob is.
