This spring, Pedro Jimeno filed to divorce Chantel Everett after five years of marriage.
Much more recently, Chantel accused Pedro of adultery and abuse in her formal response.
The Family Chantel filmed months ago, but we are seeing a lot of the buildup in these episodes.
This week, Chantel took a step to defend their marriage … only for Pedro to declare that he is moving out.
Chantel Everett’s marriage was already in a tailspin.
As The Family Chantel filmed, she was anxious about Pedro and his fidelity.
After finding his coworker’s name — Antonella, again — on his keys for some reason, Chantel spoke to a friend.
During that conversation, Chantel’s friend pointed out how Pedro must be feeling.
After all, he is feeling isolated from his family — not counting Chantel, of course.
For better or for worse, perhaps he is simply bonding with these coworkers.
But … why go to them for family support and not to Chantel, his actual human wife?
Chantel’s friend suggested that the real culprit was a lack of communication.
She recommended that Chantel put herself forward — and maybe insert herself into some of these work friend gatherings.
Chantel ended up doing just that.
She went to meet up with Pedro and his coworkers.
It did not go over well with Pedro. This led to their confrontation at home.
Pedro was very unhappy.
In his mind, he supported Chantel and was happy for her.
He told her that he only wanted that same support reciprocated at him.
Instead, he complained, she had repeatedly accused him of cheating.
(Keep in mind that this was months before Chantel accused him of adultery in her response to his divorce filing)
To Pedro, Chantel was not being supportive.
Chantel explained that she just wanted him to be nice to her.
(Pedro has been particularly harsh to Chantel in recent episodes, even withholding affection over allegedly unfinished housework)
But Pedro saw only one solution to their issues.
Pedro told Chantel that he would pack his things and leave their marital home.
In fact, he even claimed that this was because Chantel was so unhappy.
You know, as if leaving the house would be doing her a favor.
If Pedro walking out was the date of separation, then that was April 27.
According to Pedro’s divorce filing, anyway.
Of course, this is the same filing where he accused Chantel of withdrawing a massive six-figure sum from their shared account days before that.
This is all so ugly. It is also messy.
Chantel and Pedro both have a lot of hurt feelings — yes, even if Pedro was scamming Chantel, his feelings are hurt.
We are sure that we will all learn more about this ugly split in the following months.
