To Liz Woods, a twenty-something restaurant employee and a single mom, Big Ed was just a friendly customer.
She had no idea that this much older man was interested in her.
For reasons perhaps known only to her, she agreed to go out with him.
By the end of the first season, Ed and Liz had broken up.
She had cited instances of him lying to her, manipulating her, and crossing boundaries.
At the Tell All, Ed’s own castmates righteously excoriated him. Debbie Johnson was particularly memorable.
Prior to the Tell All, Liz leaked a vicious, verbally abusive call recording from Ed.
Later, Liz would claim that this and other leaked messages were the result of a “hacker.” Uh-huh.
Shockingly, she and Ed later revealed that, after filming that Tell All, Ed managed to talk his way into spending the night with Liz.
After that ill-advised tryst, Ed dumped Liz.
This time, it was via text message. Actually, every time, it was via text message.
Emotional cruelty was a defining element of their toxic relationship, and it extended to their breakups.
In the summer of 2021, Ed’s beloved dog passed away.
Liz was heartbroken over Teddy’s death, and reached out to him.
The tragedy of Teddy’s passing was compounded — Liz and Ed not only got back together, but became engaged.
