In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sandra explained why she’s stepping away for a bit — as well as how long her break will last.

“I’m so burnt out,” Sandra admitted in the interview. “I don’t want to be beholden to anyone’s schedule other than my own…I’m so tired, and I’m so not capable of making healthy, smart decisions and I know it.”

“Work has always been steady for me, and I’ve been so lucky,” she continued. “I realized it possibly was becoming my crutch.”

“It was like opening up a fridge all the time and looking for something that was never in the fridge. I said to myself, ‘Stop looking for it here because it doesn’t exist here. You already have it; establish it, find it and be OK not having work to validate you.’”

When Sandra was asked how long her break will last, she replied “I don’t know” — so she might be taking a hiatus for quite some time.

But that doesn’t mean you won’t be seeing her onscreen any time soon. She’s one of many stars who appears in Brad Pitt’s action-packed Bullet Train, which hits theaters later this summer. Here’s the trailer:

And the sequel to the massive Netflix hit Bird Box is also still in the works, so maybe she’ll return for that too.
