By now it should be expected that Doja Cat does not come to play when it comes to giving her fans incredible music and innovative visuals—and she has officially done it yet again with her brand new track. In the just-released video for her new single ‘Vegas,’ Doja Cat is spittin’ fire rhymes, winding her waist with sexy choreography and putting her own spin on an Elvis Presley classic.
As movie fans gear up for the release of the upcoming Elvis Presley biopic on June 24th, Doja Cat has gotten the party started a few weeks early by dropping her new single and video from the film’s soundtrack. In the clip for the track, ‘Vegas,’ Doja is seen killing it with the dance moves and delivering fire bars at an old-school concert hall as background dancers surround her and feel the vibes.
‘Vegas’ features an interpolation of Big Mama Thornton’s 1952 rock and roll classic ‘Hound Dog’ that was covered by Elvis Presley back in the 50s. Doja Cat is in good hands, as the film’s soundtrack also features fellow artists such as Jazmine Sullivan, Eminem, Cee-Lo Green and Gary Clark Jr.
Despite sending her fans into a virtual panic when she announced earlier this year that she was quitting music, during a recent interview with ‘ELLE’ magazine Doja confirmed that she is officially working on the follow-up to her Grammy-winning album ‘Planet Her.’ She stated that the new album will be more focused on hip hop than her previous projects.
