DaniLeigh Says She “Definitely Wasn’t” DaBaby’s Side Piece During New Interview About Their Toxic Relationship

DaniLeigh is making her return to music with the release of her single ‘Dead to Me,” which reflects on a difficult time in her life that she’s trying to move on from. During a recent interview with Angie Martinez, she opened up about her tumultuous relationship with DaBaby, and navigating motherhood now that the relationship is over.

As we previously reported, Dani and DaBaby had an unfortunate altercation on Instagram live, which she says Baby never apologized for. Nevertheless, DaniLeigh is ready to move on with her life.

“It was very triggering, very sad,” she said. “I wish it didn’t happen because I don’t want my baby to see that later on in life. But she’ll grow to be her own person and be able to take things in.”

The public blow out led to the end of Dani and DaBaby’s relationship, and the singer stated that it would have been difficult for her to leave the “toxic” situation if things hadn’t escalated. In the video, DaBaby is demanding that DaniLeigh leave his home and even threatens to call the police. He even proceeded to call her his “side b*tch,” which is a lie according to Dani.

She explained that her relationship with DaBaby was on and off for about three years and they were very much in love until things hit the fan.

“It was good and then of course he had his little mess ups and stuff and we’d break up for a month and get back together and then again we’d break up…we broke up a lot. But during that time, I definitely wasn’t his side piece and he knows that too. But I felt like when I spoke to him, he told me the night before I was doing the most when it comes to crying and stuff, you know, how I felt. And I guess he said what he said out of anger and tried to make me look bad I guess, I don’t know.”

Dani went on to say that despite not receiving an apology from the rapper, the two are navigating their relationship as co-parents to their baby girl Velour.

Dani’s new EP ‘My Side’ will be released sometime this year, and will reportedly reflect the “closure” that she’s been experiencing since her breakup.
