Canon India launches nine new projectors in its LV and XEED series

Canon India Pvt. Ltd, India on Tuesday launched nine new projectors in its LV and XEED series. With environmental concerns doing the rounds in India, the nine new projectors launched boast of eco-friendly features like an enhanced lamp lighting system and a standby mode which only consumes 0.7W in network off mode.

The new series launched in the LV series are LV-WX300, LV-X300, LV-S300, LV-WX300ST and LV-X300ST while XEED WX520, XEED WUX400ST and the XEED WX450ST were launched in it’s XEED series. The prices of these products range from MRP 40,750 to MRP 5,00,000.

“Projection requirements of Indian customers have evolved over the years. Apart from being used for projecting data, customers are now using it to project movies, videos and games as well. The new Canon projectors are equipped with high quality optics to cater to such needs. We will be reaching out to potential customers across all the major metros and aim to capture 10% market share by 2017,” said Mr. Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India.

The new projectors launched are equipped with Cannon’s XEED trademark LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) technology, which does away with the lattice effect, where a faint grid pattern appears over the projected image.

The portable LV series utilizies Digital Light Processing and Brilliant Color 8482 display technology. It is also equipped with 3000 lumens of brightness and 2300:1 contrast ratio, for filter free operation. The projectors are supposed to be 3D ready when combined with DLP-Link System and other accessories.

The XEED-ST series have been designed to project a wide vertical range of approximately 75% to 77%, with a horizontal range of approximately 10% suitable for medium range usage.

Canon has tied up with Ingram Micro as it’s National Distributor for volume products and will tie-up with AV integrated solution providers for high-end projectors.
