We will see who knows the law when I meet Dominic Ayine face to face in court- Samuel Atta Akyea

Former Abuakwa South Member of Parliament, Samuel Atta Akyea, has sharply criticized Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine regarding the ongoing case involving Kwabena Adu Boahene, the former Director of the National Signals Bureau. In a recent interview on Asempa FM, Atta Akyea expressed concerns that the treatment of his clients, including Boahene and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, amounted to persecution rather than a fair legal process.

Atta Akyea, who represents the couple, emphasized the importance of due process and called for justice to be administered without prejudice or public humiliation. He questioned the handling of the case, arguing that instead of presenting the matter before a competent court of law, Dr. Ayine had chosen to involve the court of public opinion, which he believes goes against the legal principles of fairness.

In his appearance on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Atta Akyea stated his intention to meet Dr. Ayine in court to demonstrate his legal expertise, saying, “I will meet Dr. Dominic Ayine in court face to face and let us see who knows the law.”

His remarks followed a press conference by Dr. Ayine, where the Attorney General accused Adu Boahene and his wife of possessing unexplained wealth. Dr. Ayine revealed that investigations into their financial dealings have uncovered that funds, which were suspected to be proceeds of crime, were allegedly funneled through the bank accounts of companies linked to the couple, including Advantage Solutions Limited and BNC Communications Bureau Limited.

The Attorney General also warned employees of the companies involved that any movement of assets would be tracked, and individuals could face prosecution.

The case has sparked a wave of controversy, with Atta Akyea now challenging the Attorney General’s approach, promising to defend his clients’ rights in court.
