Just In: GFA president Kurt Okraku elected as CAF Exco member

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku was elected to the CAF Executive Committee (EXCO) today, March 12, 2025.

He was elected during the CAF elections held during the CAF Congress in Cairo, Egypt. His triumph marks a huge step forward for Ghanaian football on the continental stage.

The Ghana football chief has now become the sixth Ghanaian to serve on the CAF Exco following his election.

Since assuming leadership of the GFA in 2019, Okraku has played a pivotal role in the revival of football in Ghana, pushing for structural reforms, youth development, and transparency in the game’s administration.

His rise to CAF’s highest decision-making body signals Ghana’s growing influence in African football governance.

Okraku’s leadership philosophy, which centers around innovation and development, could be instrumental in advancing African football’s global competitiveness.
