Kotoko fans showed up in their numbers to sing songs and rally behind their departed colleague.

A delegation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), led by President Kurt Okraku, attended to commiserate with the bereaved family.

Accra Hearts of Oak supporters were present to sing songs and charge the atmosphere as the committed football fan was laid to rest.

The huge number of mourners sang the Kotoko song as the deceased was carried into the hearse, headed for the cemetery for burial.

Pooley was murdered during a melee between fans and players of Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC during a Ghana Premier League match on February 2, 2025.

Following the incident, several arrests have been made, including the owner of Nsoatreman FC, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah.

The main suspect, Braimah, however, remains at large, with reports indicating that he fled to Senegal through the Ivory Coast after seeking cover at the house of his girlfriend, who has also been arrested.

Meanwhile, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has adopted the children of Pooley and offered to take care of them.
