Viktoria Plzeň forward Prince Adu has expressed his admiration for Luis Suárez and Asamoah Gyan, two players who shaped his love for the game. The 21-year-old regards Gyan as a national legend and reveals that he closely studies Suárez’s playing style.

Suárez’s infamous handball incident during the 2010 World Cup remains one of the most controversial moments in Ghanaian football history, making Adu’s admiration for him an intriguing contrast.

Nonetheless, in an interview with Flashscore, Adu explained how frequently watching both players has helped refine his movement, finishing, and overall approach to the game.

“Growing up, I watched Luis Suárez and Asamoah Gyan. You know, Gyan is a Ghanaian legend who did a lot for our national team. My style is very similar to Luis Suárez, so I watch his videos a lot. The way Suárez scores, runs, his movement with and without the ball, and even his off-the-pitch presence, I like everything about him and really learn a lot from him,” he said.

Adu further shared how he continues to draw inspiration from the man who once broke Ghanaian hearts.

“The way he plays and gives his all is the reason why he succeeds everywhere he goes. Growing up, I loved watching him, and I still watch him in the MLS,” he added.

Adu has been in incredible form this season, scoring 10 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions for Plzeň.
