By Daniel Agbesi Latsu

Kadjebi (O/R), Mar 4, GNA – The Kadjebi District in the Oti Region is marking the 68th Independence Day anniversary with a clean-up exercise and quiz competition.

The clean-up exercise will take place at various locations, including health facilities and the lorry station, among others.

There will also be a quiz competition among twelve basic schools in the district.

Mr Cletus Chevure, the Kadjebi District Coordinating Director, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview.

He told GNA that due to the challenging economic situation the country finds itself in, the Assemblies have been directed to commemorate the anniversary with modesty.

Mr Chevure said the quiz competition would reflect on what happened on March 6, 1957, to remember the struggle our forebears went through to liberate Ghana from the colonial rule.

Commenting on the clean-up exercise, he said, it aims to rekindle the importance of a clean environment, as cleanliness helps prevent the spread of infections and diseases by reducing the presence of germs, bacteria, and viruses.

Mr Chevure stressed that cleanliness plays a vital role in promoting health, well-being, and a a better environment.

This year’s Independence Day falls on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

The day will be marked under the theme: “Reflect, Review, and Reset”.
