Social media commentator Kevin Taylor has broken his silence regarding the controversial “daughter of a murderer” remark made in parliament.
During a parliamentary discussion marking the 60th anniversary of Joseph Boakye Danquah’s death, a Member of Parliament launched an unprovoked attack on Dr. Zenator Agyeman-Rawlings, the daughter of the late Jerry John Rawlings. The incident occurred when Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed questioned the minority’s praise of JB Danquah, sparking a heated debate. As tensions rose, lawyer Andrew Asiamah intervened, restricting further contributions to only leadership.
Amid the chaos, an unidentified MP was heard saying, “Daughter of a murderer, sit down. But there’s evidence her father killed people,” justifying his inflammatory statement. The comment has since triggered widespread outrage online, with many sharing their opinions.
In a viral video, Kevin Taylor issued a stern warning to the majority (NDC) caucus, particularly targeting majority leader Mahama Ayariga. Taylor claimed that all NDC MPs seated in the front row, including Ayariga, witnessed the MP who made the statement. He demanded that the majority caucus release a statement identifying the MP, threatening to expose them if they failed to do so.
Taylor further argued that the majority caucus should not protect the individual responsible for the remark, warning that their silence would associate them with the act. “Prove to Ghanaians you were selected to protect the country,” he added, urging transparency and accountability.
