Mustapha Gbande, Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, has heavily criticized the Akufo-Addo administration for their alleged neglect of the Jubilee House, which he claims has resulted in its deteriorating condition
According to Ghana Web, In an interview with Asempa FM, Gbande, who also serves as the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed disbelief at the state of disrepair at the presidential palace.
He pointed out that the facility, which should represent the seat of the nation’s highest office, is in a deplorable condition.
“God will punish all of them. When you visit the Jubilee House now, you would ask yourself: were human beings living there?” Gbande said, describing the building as filthy, poorly maintained, and in a state of disarray.
According to him, the condition of the facility reflects poor management and a lack of responsibility on the part of the previous administration.
He criticized the failure to maintain basic aspects of the presidential residence, noting the poor state of the gardening, the neglected painting, and the inadequate lighting.
Additionally, he stated on the misuse of furniture and the general lack of care given to the building, despite the large budgets allocated for its upkeep.
Gbande also questioned the discrepancy between the lavish lifestyles of some officials and the deteriorating state of the Jubilee House, implying a stark contrast between the ostentation of leadership and the neglect of national assets.
“Were intellectuals occupying the Jubilee House?” he asked, highlighting the irony of the situation.
