The Ghana Navy Supply Base (GNSB) in Takoradi has officially inducted Commander Sabina Dennison as its new Commanding Officer (CO).
During the handover ceremony, the outgoing commander, Prosper Cudjoe Korto, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve and thanked the Naval High Command for their trust in him.
He acknowledged the dedication and hard work of the unit’s personnel and encouraged them to extend the same level of commitment to the new CO.
“I humbly assumed office bearing in mind that, many had come before me and captained the ship and did not run it aground and continued in their footsteps,” he said.
Mr Korto urged the new CO to embrace the challenges ahead, knowing that with teamwork, dedication, and discipline, she will succeed.
He also appreciated the corporate institutions that played significant roles in supporting key infrastructural projects at the base.
The Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics, at the General Headquarters, Rear Admiral Samuel Agyenim-Boateng, commended Commander Korto for his exceptional leadership.
He noted that a military unit thrives on strong leadership and commitment, and Commander Korto’s tenure had significantly enhanced GNSB’s operational efficiency through infrastructural improvements.
Addressing the new Commanding Officer, Rear Admiral Agyenim-Boateng encouraged her to embrace responsibilities and challenges with confidence and determination to achieve even greater success.
“The success of the unit will depend on your ability to inspire, coordinate, and ensure efficiency in logistics operations,” he stated.
