Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the director of communications for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign for the general elections scheduled for December 7, has urged Ghanaians to ignore remarks made by a person he identified as Rosemond Obeng, also known as “People’s Mother,” and to keep their attention on the vice president’s goals and campaign. The Communications Director rejected the critic in a statement that has generated social media conversation, saying, “She left with the butterfly and should stay with the butterfly.”

Give her no attention. Focus!”

While the exact context of the remarks was not elaborated upon, they appear to address a recent controversy involving a former aide of Dr. Bawumia who has shifted allegiances and made public statements against him.

According to the lady interviewed on the State of Affairs on Accra-based GH One TV, Dr Bawumia her former boss is not a decisive leader.

The Communications Director emphasised the need for Ghanaians and supporters of Dr. Bawumia to remain focused on his policies and leadership agenda as the nation approaches a critical election period.

“Our focus should be on the transformational vision that Dr. Bawumia is presenting to Ghanaians.

Distractions and divisive commentary must not derail us from the task ahead,” he added.

Reactions to the comments have been divided; some fans have unified behind the demand to disregard the critic, while others have questioned the statement’s tone.

Leading the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the elections on December 7, Dr. Bawumia has been pushing Ghanaians to support his vision for the nation by running on a platform of social development, economic stabilization, and digital transformation.
