Archbishop Agyinasare leads prayer for righteous leadership ahead of 2024 Elections

At a vibrant Family Thanksgiving Praise and Worship service under the theme Yehuda held Sunday, December 1, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare led a powerful intercessory prayer session as Ghana prepares for its crucial elections on Saturday, December 7th.

The Archbishop invoked divine intervention, urging the congregation to seek God’s hand in determining the nation’s leadership.

Drawing inspiration from scriptures such as Daniel 2:21—“He removes kings and sets up kings”—and Proverbs 29:2, which highlights the joy of the people under righteous leadership, Archbishop Agyinasare emphasized that governance and politics are deeply spiritual matters.

“If God sets up kings and removes them, then He is undoubtedly interested in Ghana’s leadership and politics,” he declared.

With passion and urgency, the Archbishop outlined key prayer points, calling on God to:

  • Appoint a righteous leader who will be a blessing to the nation.
  • Deliver Ghana from selfish rulers seeking to exploit resources.
  • Ensure stable governance by avoiding a hung parliament and granting effective leadership.
  • Preserve the peace of the nation and frustrate any plans to disrupt it.

Reflecting on international examples, Archbishop Agyinasare cited the just-ended U.S. elections, noting how Trump won both the Senate and Congress, enabling smooth governance. He prayed for Ghana to avoid governance deadlocks like a hung parliament.

He also boldly declared that any individual or group attempting to undermine the will of the people should face divine judgment.

The service culminated with a heartfelt plea to God for prosperity, jobs, and national harmony under the leadership of a God-fearing man. The congregation raised their voices in agreement, lifting their hands in prayer for Ghana’s destiny.

As the elections draw near, the Archbishop’s prayer reverberates as a clarion call for the nation to seek divine guidance and prioritize righteous leadership. His fervent plea—Lord, uphold Your glory in this nation!”—has sparked hope and introspection among many Ghanaians.
