Ghanaian forward Mohammed Fuseini scores to secure victory for Royal Union SG in Europa League

Ghanaian international Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini was the hero for Royal Union SG on November 28, 2024, scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 win over FC Twente in the Europa League.

The Belgian side faced a tough away test against the Dutch Eredivisie club in their Round 5 clash.

Royal Union SG thought they had taken the lead early, with Franjo Ivanovic scoring just seven minutes into the match. However, the goal was ruled out by VAR for offside.

Just four minutes later, Ghanaian forward Fuseini made his mark, finding the back of the net with a clinical finish after a well-timed assist from Ousseynou Niang. The goal stood and proved to be the only one of the matches, as Royal Union SG secured all three points.

The victory sees Royal Union SG rise to 24th in the Europa League standings, keeping their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages alive.

After scoring his first goal in this season’s Europa League, Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini will be eager to score more in upcoming games.
