The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has reiterated the commitment of the Ghana Police Service to remain neutral and professional during the election.

He emphasised that the Police will not favour any side, assuring the public that the law will be applied evenly.

Dr. Dampare made these remarks during the commissioning of a state-of-the-art police station at Akyem Muoso in the Eastern Region on November 17, 2024, according to a report by citinewsroom.

He warned potential troublemakers that the Police would not allow any individual or group to disrupt the country’s peace before, during, or after the elections.

“The Ghana Police Service is for the country and its people. We do not belong to any side in the elections; we are there to serve the people and protect you. So, we will remain neutral and professional during the elections and beyond,” he noted.
