The National Democratic Congress (NDC) deputy director of elections, Dr. Rashid Tanko, has stressed that the party had to exercise particular caution in order to spot irregularities with ballots designated for the Ahafo and Volta regions.

In a statement issued on Sunday, November 17, 2024, the EC stated that, upon identifying irregularities in the serial numbers, the presidential and parliamentary ballot papers for the aforementioned regions were burned.

According to the EC, the destruction was monitored by agents of the political parties, the NIB, National Security, Ghana Police Service and the EC.

Dr. Tanko responded to the statement on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney by saying that the NDC would be alert to make sure the aid down procedures are properly followed, but he was unable to hold the EC accountable for the irregularities.

He stated that in order to save Ghana from the current NPP government, the NDC will stop at nothing to win the December elections.
