Second Lady, Samira Bawumia with Asuogyaman NPP PC, Pius Hadzide
The Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has called on the electorate to vote massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on December 7 for the continuity and economic prosperity of the country.
She also urged voters to support the NPP Parliamentary Candidates in the Krobo enclave to continue the government’s good works.
Speaking at a campaign rally in the Asuogyaman Constituency, where she toured the Asuogyaman, Lower Manya Krobo, and Yilo Krobo Constituencies, she was accompanied by the parliamentary aspirants. Mrs. Bawumia emphasized that voting for the NPP is essential to achieving the party’s good intentions for the country. She called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to trust Dr. Bawumia to lead the country further into prosperity.
Mrs. Bawumia highlighted that voting for the NPP, led by Dr. Bawumia, would ensure the continuation of initiatives like Free SHS, Agenda 111, free TVET, and the payment of nursing and teacher trainee allowances. Outlining Dr. Bawumia’s vision for the country, she said, “Bawumia means jobs, Bawumia means business, and he says he’s going to create one million digital jobs.”
She called on voters to support their Parliamentary Candidates, including Pius Enam Hadzide for Asuogyaman, Simon Kweku Tetteh for Lower Manya Krobo, and Dr. Twum Barimah for Yilo Krobo. At Asuogyaman, she specifically urged the electorate to vote for the CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Pius Hadzide, describing him as young, vibrant, and having the people’s best interests at heart.
Mrs. Bawumia warned that voting otherwise in both the presidential and parliamentary elections would set the country back in terms of development and urged voters to vote wisely. Praising Mr. Hadzide’s development-driven agenda, she expressed optimism that the Asuogyaman Constituency would see significant development if he represented them in parliament. “Even though he’s yet to become a member of parliament, look at his good works; he’ll surely do a lot more if you send him to parliament,” she said, urging people not to be discouraged by the purported NDC dominance in the area.
She attributed the NDC’s dominance in the Zongos to deception, stating, “The NDC has told the Zongos that the NPP is not their party, but today, we realize that’s not the case. NPP is a party of unity; every Ghanaian has their share.”
Mr. Hadzide, for his part, shared his vision of transforming the well-being of women in the constituency by ensuring they are economically and socially empowered through financial support to expand their businesses. He pledged to continue and expand a financing scheme for market women in the constituency if elected as MP.
Urging the electorate to vote for Dr. Bawumia, he expressed confidence that the NPP flagbearer would be the first President in the fourth republic to swear the oath of office with the Holy Quran. He argued that the NPP government has lived up to expectations in the Asuogyaman area, while the NDC, despite enjoying massive support, has done very little towards developing the area.
“The NPP has not disappointed Asuogyaman,” said Mr. Hadzide. “As I speak, there’s a hospital built for Asuogyaman…the Agenda 111 hospital project has been built by the NPP government…the NDC has won all presidential elections in Asuogyaman but has done nothing significant here; we’ve not had any benefits from voting for them.”
He also highlighted the Tema-Mpakadan railway line, which he said would facilitate transportation between Tema and Asuogyaman, and urged the electorate to retain the NPP to ensure the project is not abandoned. Mr. Hadzide accused the sitting MP, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, of failing to prioritize the needs of the electorate.
Assuring the Muslim community of his support, the Parliamentary Candidate promised to support and facilitate their pilgrimage to Mecca if elected as MP for the area.
