As the December 7 general elections draw near, political parties have intensified their campaigns to win the hearts of electorates.
The major political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have stormed Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, to campaign and sway voters to their side, as well as reiterate their policies to them.
During the week, the NPP presidential candidate toured Kumasi and some constituencies, including the Adansi-Asokwa constituency, which has Kobina Tahir Hammond as its Member of Parliament.
Addressing party supporters, K.T. Hammond was captured entreating them to vote for the party flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to become president of the republic.
He asserted that Dr. Bawumia was a blessing from God to Ghanaians and should be given the chance to steer the affairs of the nation.
In a video sighted by GhanaWeb, K.T. Hammond said, “Ghanaians worry. God is giving us a gift. Did you see what Jesus Christ went through after God gifted him to us? Be careful! It is God who is blessing us with Alhaji Dr. Bawumia. Vote for him to become the President of the Republic.”
It is only 21 days before Ghanaians go to the polls to elect a president and members of parliament.
On the other hand, the Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that a total of 18,774,159 people are expected to vote on December 7.
