The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for individuals identifying as the “NDC Youth of Obuasi” over threats of violence ahead of the 2024 General Elections.
The group was captured in a viral video making alarming threats to disrupt the December polls.
In a statement dated November 15, the police described the group’s actions as a breach of public peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
A coordinated police operation is underway to apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring a peaceful election and warned against any conduct that threatens public safety.
