Ghanaian gospel artist and TV personality Empress Gifty recently disclosed that she was initially chosen to host United Showbiz, the popular entertainment show on UTV, before MzGee took over. In an interview, Empress Gifty shared she was approached her for the role after Nana Ama McBrown stepped down as host.
Although honored by the offer, Empress Gifty had to decline due to her frequent travels and demanding schedule, particularly with commitments in the United States. “They offered me the role, but with my constant travels, I couldn’t take it on. Management was very understanding and even suggested they’d look for another program that would better fit my busy schedule,” she explained.
While she didn’t become the host of United Showbiz then, Empress Gifty now hosts the U-Cook show on UTV.
