Parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, John Dumelo, has announced plans to introduce a “school and work” program if elected as Member of Parliament for the area.
In a post shared on X on November 13, 2024, the actor-turned-politician stated that as part of his policy agenda, he aims to implement a program that allows university students to work remotely while pursuing their studies.
Dumelo emphasised that the initiative would help alleviate economic challenges faced by university students.
“When I become Ayawaso West MP, I will initiate the SAW; [the] School And Work program. University students can work remotely for various companies while studying on campus. #idey4u,” he posted on X.
However, his announcement has since sparked mixed reactions among netizens.
While some have questioned the feasibility and implementation of the program, others have praised the idea as a positive step towards supporting students in the constituency.
