Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Campaign Spokesperson and Special Aide to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, has urged voters not to be swayed by recent promises made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mogtari’s comments come in response to Dr. Bawumia’s recent pledge to introduce free dialysis treatment for renal patients, set to begin on December 1. She criticized this announcement, suggesting that the Vice President’s position already provides him with the authority to implement such initiatives, implying the promise may be politically motivated as a campaign tactic.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, November 12, Mogtari underscored Mahama’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises, contrasting it with what she described as Dr. Bawumia’s track record. She highlighted that Mahama and the NDC had included similar commitments in their manifesto, covering essential healthcare provisions like specialist fertility and dialysis services.
Mogtari urged Ghanaians to vote for the NDC in the December elections to ensure access to improved healthcare services across the board.
“We are all prone to sharing our jaundiced partisan views on general issues without knowing that people actually see through the lens. Long before @MBawumia promised free dialysis treatments as a prerequisite for votes, John Mahama and NDC in the People’s Manifesto had offered a similar promise. But of course, they didn’t see or hear that either.
“Dear Voters between the Man currently in power and able to offer you anything you need but has refused to do so and the Man who has demonstrated over the years that he is a man who walks his talk.
“You have a clear choice, don’t be hoodwinked once again by lofty claims, vote wisely Vote #JohnMahama so that together we can build the Ghana we want where you can indeed get access to better healthcare including specialist fertility treatments and dialysis services.”
