Bernard Allotey Jacob has asked the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) and their flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, not to tickle themselves believing once Donald Trump, a former President of the United States, has won this year’s election translates into victory for them as well.

Some members and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have taken over social media circulating the victory of Donald Trump and comparing the US election to Ghana’s upcoming election.

To them, the US election will have a direct bearing on Ghana’s but Allotey Jacob shares dissenting views.

Allotey Jacob, a former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, has told his former party not to think Ghanaians will give them an automatic win because Trump has been elected the 47th President of the United States.

“Let’s not have that illusion that if Trump as a former President has won in America, it can happen in Ghana. It is not possible!”, he said on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show.

He asserted that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will shock the NDC stressing “I want to make it emphatically clear that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the next President of Ghana”.
