Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the current running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed her heartfelt support for her alma mater, Wesley Girls’ Senior High School, as they celebrate their recent success in the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
Wesley Girls, a powerhouse in Ghana’s educational landscape, proudly advanced to the semifinals by beating St. Peter’s senior High, and Professor Opoku-Agyemang, an old student, took to her official X page to share an inspiring message with them.
In her post, she congratulated the Wesley Girls’ NSMQ team on their achievement and encouraged them to keep aiming higher as they face the upcoming rounds. She also playfully mentioned her connection to St. Augustine’s College, another Cape Coast school in the semifinals, where her son Kwabena attended.
She expressed her excitement at seeing both Wesley Girls and St. Augustine’s College, along with Ghana National College, strive to bring the NSMQ title to Cape Coast, specifically to the Kakumdo area, where these schools are based.
Her words, “Live Pure, Speak True, Right Wrong, Follow the King,” reflect Wesley Girls’ strong values and determination, motivating the team to give their all.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s message has sparked pride and excitement among Wesley Girls’ supporters and Cape Coast residents, who hope to see the title return to the Central Region this year.
