“‘Mathematically, there is still a chance to qualify for the 2025 AFCON’ – “Ghana coach Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo remains optimistic about Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), despite the recent setback against Sudan.

During the October international break, Ghana managed to secure only one point from four matches in a double-header against Sudan, leaving them on the verge of missing out on a place in Morocco.

The Black Stars drew 0-0 in the first leg at home before suffering a 2-0 defeat in Libya in the return leg. As it stands, Ghana is positioned third in the group, trailing Angola and Sudan as they approach the final matches of the qualifying series.

“It’s not over yet,” Addo emphasized in a statement to the Ghana Football Association’s media team. “Mathematically, there is still a chance, and we will do everything in our power to keep this chance alive.

“To secure their spot in Morocco, the Black Stars must win their next two qualifying matches in November while relying on Sudan to drop points in their remaining fixtures.

Addo’s determination and belief in his squad’s potential will be crucial as they seek to turn their fortunes around in the qualifying campaign.
