Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has expressed gratitude for the invaluable advice and mentorship he received from his elder brother Andre Ayew and other senior players throughout his football journey.

Ayew, who has played for clubs like Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace, and now Leicester City, believes their guidance played a significant role in shaping his successful career.

In a recent interview, Ayew reflected on how these senior figures influenced his growth in the sport. “I was very lucky because I had my brother and a few other senior players who were always advising me,” he said.

Now at Leicester City, Ayew is taking on a mentorship role himself, particularly with his compatriot Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who joined Leicester from Sporting CP. Ayew praised the 20-year-old winger’s hard work and determination.

“This just shows that the boy has done a really good job and has worked hard to get to where he is today. All credit goes to him.”

As a senior player, Ayew has taken it upon himself to ensure Issahaku’s smooth transition at Leicester City. “I am now here… to ensure that Abdul is in a good place because I know it isn’t easy for young players,” he said, noting that he can be both supportive and strict when needed.
