Ghanaians blame GFA, Otto Addo for Black Stars defeat against Sudan

Many Ghanaians have pointed fingers at the Ghana Football Association as well as Black Stars head coach Otto Addo for Ghana’s defeat against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

They made their thoughts known during an engagement on GhanaWeb TV’s ‘Sports Debate’ following the loss on Tuesday, October 15, 2025.

The Black Stars suffered a disastrous defeat to Sudan, losing 2-0 at the Martyrs of February Stadium.

The result adds to the team’s recent disappointing performances. It was their third defeat in 2024, having won two and drawn three of the eight matches they have played.

The shameful defeat against Sudan has blurred their chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON.

Ghana now faces the huge adversity of not qualifying for Africa’s flagship competition after earning just two points from four games and, as a result, sitting third in their group.

GhanaWeb hit the streets of Accra so get the thoughts of some Ghanaians on the Sudan defeat as well as the Black Stars’ poor outing in the qualifiers so far.
