Come to the secretariat if you want to see content of National Cathedral audit

A member of the National Cathedral’s board of trustees, Dr Joyce Aryee, has asked Ghanaians interested in perusing the audit of their work to visit their offices.

Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa, has questioned why the audit by Delloite hasn’t been made public.

He believes that the Board of Trustees have something to hide, hence the decision not to make the contents available for public consumption.

But speaking in an interview with Accra-based Citi News, Joyce Aryee directed all persons who have an interest to visit their secretariat and have a look at the audit report.

“The rest are coming; they are in the process of doing the rest. Why do they want to peruse it? Even GCB as a company on the stock market do you go there to peruse what they have said…

“So come to the secretariat. If you come to the secretariat… Of course there is nothing to hide; come to the secretariat. If we had anything to hide we won’t even go public to say that the audit report is available.

“I think that sometimes as Ghanaians it is wonderful that we are interested in the cathedral, even if for all the wrong reasons but it is good that we are interested. We know for example, if I bank with Stanbic and they say they’ve done an audit, if I really want to know if the audit is true, I can go to Stanbic as somebody who banks there. Even if I put it in graphic not everyone will read it. If I come and sit on your radio, not everybody will hear it so sometimes we make a fuss but it’s okay, it is part of human nature,” she said.
