President Nana Akufo-Addo has expressed optimism about Ghana’s economic recovery, citing the country’s ability to accomplish what many deemed impossible. Addressing newly appointed diplomats, the president highlighted a 4.7% growth rate in the first quarter of 2024, which exceeded IMF predictions. He credited Ghana’s resilience and strategic policies, including successful debt restructuring and the Ghana CARES ‘Obaatampa’ Programme, for these achievements. Akufo-Addo assured Ghanaians that the recovery is on track, despite global adversities like the pandemic and Ukraine conflict.
