An inmate of the Weija Leprosarium on October 7, 2024, delivered a touching tribute to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with a song that glorified the power of the Lord.

On his 61st birthday yesterday, Dr. Bawumia shared the joy of the day with residents of the Weija Leprosarium by sending them assorted food items, water, a bull, and cash. He was unable to join them, as he usually does, due to his tight schedule.

The cured lepers were highly appreciative of the gesture. Together with the head of the leprosarium, Father Andrew Campbell, they sang a happy birthday song for the Vice President and NPP Presidential Candidate.

One man, however, stood out when he decided to compose a solo song for Dr. Bawumia, with lyrics that glorified God as the only Sustainer and owner of power.

In a veiled dig at predictions by some pastors, the cured leper sang, “Some people are not happy about Bawumia’s impending leadership, but you’re not God. You’re not God because you don’t cause the rains to fall and you don’t cause the sun to shine. What God has decided, no one can change it.”
