24 outstanding women honoured at 2024 Ghana Women Awards

The Accra International Conference Center on Sunday 6 October, 2024 was filled with elegance and excitement as dignitaries converged to celebrate and award twenty-four outstanding women in Ghana.

Patrons of the Ghana Women Awards 24 were treated to a delicious dinner and were serenaded by great musical performances by Highlife legend Dada KD, Gospel Diva Empress Gifty, and the Arc Band as Ghana’s renowned young poet, Nakeeyat Dramani Sam masterfully wove magical words into the hearts of the audience.

The event organized by Brein Consult has over the past 15 years celebrated the achievements of distinguished Ghanaian women across the various sectors of the economy as a way of empowering other women to aspire for greatness.

In commemoration of its fifteenth anniversary, the Ghana Women Awards Foundation (GWAF) launched the ‘Mother and Child Care Fund’ to offer financial and social assistance to mothers and their newborns who have been detained in hospitals over unpaid medical bills.

The ultimate award of the night, Legendary Woman went to Madam Belinda Doris Arkorful, CEO of Linda Dor, while famous actress Grace Omaboe popularly known as Maame Dokono, gospel duo, Tagoe Sisters, Afi Amoro, CEO of Jandel, and Hajia Hawa Meizongo, CEO of Silverline Productions received honorary awards.

From the private sector, Belinda Naa Odey Amarteifio was awarded Outstanding Female HR Executive, Rev. Dr Colleen Opoku-Amuaben, Outstanding Female Pastor and Philanthropist, Linda Asong of Lyran Collections, Outstanding Female Fashion Designer, Most Promising Lady, Therestella Obosu Tei-Kwabla, Corporate Woman went to Linda Vasnani, COO of Conship Ghana Limited, Thelma Otuko Doku, Outstanding Female Architect; Deloris Frimpong Manso aka Delay won Outstanding Female Media Personality, Beatrice Spio Garbrah, Outstanding Journalist and Wendy Asiamah Addo aka Wendy Shay emerged as the Outstanding Female Entertainer.

In the Public sector category, SWOII Logah Patience Ablah won Outstanding Female Officer of Ghana Armed Forces, DOP Gloria Essandoh, Outstanding Female Prisons Service Personal, Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, Outstanding Nurse, DCFO Doris Lamptey, Outstanding Female Fire Service Personal, Assistant Commissioner Adjei Odi Christiana, Outstanding Female CEPS Personal, Dr Ama Kyerewaa Edwin, Outstanding Female Doctor, Dr Ernestina Asiedua, Outstanding Midwife, and Deputy Commissioner Edith Penelope Arhin, Outstanding Female Immigration Personal.
