Gospel musician, Brother Sammy, has called on churches to stop discriminating against young people with piercings, tattoos, and dreadlocks, urging them to show love instead.
This comes after Brother Sammy was seen filming a gospel drill music video with young men in dreads, sparking discussions on social media.
In an interview with media personality Captain Smart on October 4, 2024, Brother Sammy pointed out the disdain often shown towards ‘people from the ghetto’ when they attend church services, due to societal perceptions of them as ‘ungodly.’
“I intentionally visited the ‘ghetto’ because many people think that those from the ghetto don’t have pure hearts. I believe it’s time we allow everyone to come to church and before God, including those with tattoos and piercings,” he stated.
Brother Sammy argued that men with piercings and tattoos should not be labelled as “ungodly,” emphasising that such appearances are not sinful.
“We don’t have to marginalise these boys and girls and prevent them from coming to church,” he said.
Brother Sammy is currently promoting his new single “Ebebam,” which has been a topic of discussions following the release of his gospel drill music video featuring individuals from the ghetto.
