Leader of Anointed Palace Chapel (APC), Rev. Obofour
The leader of Anointed Palace Chapel (APC) Worldwide, Reverend Francis Nana Agyei Antwi, widely known as Rev. Obofour, has said that John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), returning as president is not a taboo.
Rev. Obofour was among the pastors who met with John Mahama on October 1, 2024, for a fellowship.
During the Q&A session, Rev. Obofour expressed his support for Mahama’s potential return to the presidency.
He emphasized that coming back to lead the country is not a taboo, adding that Ghanaians already know him (Mahama).
“We give thanks to God. My name is Francis Antwi, but people widely know me as Rev. Obofour. Your Excellency, may God bless you for giving us pastors this opportunity to fellowship with you. This is not the first time you have invited me. All these testify that it’s not because you need something from God’s people that you have invited us. I am an Akan and a Ghanaian, and returning to the old isn’t a bad idea; coming back is not a taboo.”
The man of God, after the prayer session, also posed three questions to Mahama, seeking answers to his perspectives.
According to Obofour, Mahama should channel his discussion on cement prices, iron rods, and other building materials, questioning him on what he intends to do about the surge in prices should he win power.
“Everyone’s dream is to build, but we haven’t heard anything about cement during campaigns, so please talk about it and iron rods,” he said.
Obofour also asked Mahama how he intended to stabilize the Ghanaian cedi.
“Now the dollar is speaking a different language, the value difference. Please, what will you do about it when you win power?” Obofour asked.
He also questioned Mahama on the hikes in public transport fares.
“Before, people could buy porridge with the coins left after boarding trotro, but now trotro fares are expensive. What will you do about it?”
He further urged Mahama to maintain his communication with the clergy if elected president.
