Wor-Lumor Osekan Kpenuku II Restrained

Wor-Lumor Boni Numo Noi Osekan Kpenuku II

The Judicial Committee of the Osu Traditional Council has restrained Shippi Dudor alias Wor-Lumor Boni Numo Noi Osekan Kpenuku II, from holding himself as the Osu Nadu Klottey Wulomo or the Osu Klottey Wulomo pending the determination of a case against him at the Judicial Committee.

He was also restrained from instituting and/or prosecuting actions in courts or any forum in his alleged capacity as the Osu Naadu Klottey Wulomo, or Osu Klottey Wulomo, or purporting to represent or act on behalf of the Osu Stool.

This followed an action initiated against him by Nii Ako Korteu IV (deceased) the then Osu Mankralo; Nuumo Noi Osekan III, Osu Klottey Wulomo and Nii Nortey Otututse II, Ashante Blohum Dzasetse, challenging his legitimacy as the Osu Klottey Wulomo.

The plaintiffs subsequently filed an application for injunction against the defendant pending the determination of the case.

Though the defendant did not file an affidavit in opposition to the application for injunction, he filed an application seeking to dismiss the injunction application on ground that the Judicial Committee did not have jurisdiction to consider the application.

But the Judicial Committee comprising of Nii Kwabena Bonne V (Chairman), Nuumo Gbelenfoo III (member) and Nii Armah Sogblah IV (member) said it had jurisdiction since it was a chieftaincy matter, and subsequently dismissed the defendant’s application and went ahead to grant the injunction sought by the plaintiffs.

The Committee also restrained all persons and institutions from recognising or holding the said Shippi Dudor as the Osu Klottey Wulomo, and further restrained him from obstructing or interfering in any manner with the performance of customary rites at Osu Klottey Shrine by Nuumo Noi Osikan III.

Following the injunction order, the surviving plaintiffs in the case on September 19, 2024 filed a Penal Notice warning the said Shippi Dudor, all persons and institutions of the consequence of the breach of the injunction order, being the danger of contempt proceedings against whoever would flout the order.
