NDC’s Protest Against EC One Of The Most ‘Useless’ Ever – Nana B | Politics

NPP National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye has fired shots at the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over their protest against the EC.

The National Democratic Congress today, September 17, embarked on a demonstration against the Electoral Commission accusing the institution of possessing a voter’s register inflated with irregularities.

The NDC believes the EC has ulterior motive against them in what they claim the Commission wants to rig the upcoming elections in favor of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) and their flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The Police approved the party’s protest march dubbed “Enough Is Enough” held across the 16 Regions.

The opposition party demands a forensic audit of the register by an independent authority and another exhibition before the election.

Some of the placards during the protest said “No Clean Register, No Peace”.

Reacting to this protest during Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ show, Henry Nana Boakye found it extremely needless that the NDC would take such nationwide action.

“For me, this is one of the most useless demonstrations ever,” he stated.

Nana B, as he’s affectionately called, issued a stern warning to the Electoral Commission not to employ the service of a foreign entity to audit the register in an attempt to heed the NDC’s call.

“We, in the NPP, we will not allow any foreign interference. We will not any whatever name — independent body — to come and sit on a constitutionally created body, mandated, well-established, having districts and offices. To say we should employ the services of another independent body, I mean what has happened? What’s the issue?

“We will not allow it and any attempt from the Electoral Commission to go for another body to conduct a forensic audit, we will resist it fiercely. In fact, the NDC’s demonstration will be the least,” he warned.
