Evelyn Ofori Atta has assumed the role of Senior Plant Metallurgist at the Newmont Ahafo South mine, marking a historic achievement as the first Ghanaian woman to hold this position.
In 2020, Evelyn initially broke ground as the inaugural female plant metallurgist at Ahafo South mine upon joining Newmont.
In her capacity, she successfully managed pivotal operations, contributing to groundbreaking projects such as carbon degritting and recycling grinding media.
Her dedication to safety values and innovative approaches has been evident throughout her tenure.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Evelyn actively participates in the Women and Allies Business Resource Group, an internal initiative at Newmont that advocates for gender diversity and champions the equality and equity of women within the company, aligning with Newmont’s commitment to inclusion.
