Otumfour Is Afraid Of Chairman Wontumi- Kelvin Taylor

U.S based Ghanaian media personality, Kevin Taylor has added his voice to the ongoing misunderstanding between loudmouth politician, Chairman Wontumi and the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu.

The Asantehene has ordered Samanhene to summon 8 people over Chairman Wontumi’s alleged public denigration.

Per the information available at our news desk, Chairman Wontumi had a misunderstanding with the constituency organizer of the Manhyia South during the Ashanti Regional parliamentary vetting held by the NPP.

Following the brouhaha, Chairman Wontumi belittled Otumfour Osei Tutu saying that “I have built my own kingdom, I have my own police and military, and I will speak my mind to Otumfuo if I disagree on an issue with him (Otumfuo)”.

Even though Chairman Wontumi has said that he never said anything of that sort, the Asantehene has ordered his Samanhene to look into the case so that they can use the Ashanti Regional chairman as a deterrent to others.

““I would like to place on the record that the story is false, malicious and calculated attempt by some elements to pitch the ruling party and my good self against the Asantehene, for reasons best known to them”, Chairman Wontumi said.

Reacting to this, controversial media personality, Kelvin Taylor has landed knockout blows on the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II

Kelvin Taylor has said that Otumfour Osei Tutu should not be taken serious because he cannot take any serious action against Chairman Wontumi.

According to him, Otumfou will go down if he takes any action against Chairman Wontumi because he is bigger than anyone in the Ashanti Region.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II reportedly summons Chairman Wontumi for challenging his authority

Chairman Wontumi has found himself in deep waters as he has been summoned by the Manhyia Palace for challenging the authority of the revered Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The contentious incident reportedly took place during a sitting of the NPP parliamentary primaries vetting committee last week.

Without apparent provocation, Chairman Wontumi declared his intention to challenge the Asantehene, stating boldly, “I have built my own kingdom, I have my own police and military, and I will speak my mind to Otumfuo if I disagree on an issue with him.”

This bold assertion did not go unnoticed, and Nana Kwaku Duah, the Kokosohene present at the meeting, expressed his dissatisfaction with Chairman Wontumi’s statements.

He reportedly remarked, “For you to even say those words in my presence is unacceptable, and I’m not happy about your weird and disrespectful behavior.”

In response to what is perceived as a challenge to the authority of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asanteman Traditional Council has purportedly issued a summons to Chairman Wontumi.

The summons, directed to the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Kodua, seeks to facilitate Chairman Wontumi’s appearance at the Manhyia Palace to explain his comments and address the perceived disrespect towards Otumfuo.

The Asanteman Traditional Council, custodians of the rich Ashanti cultural heritage, holds Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in high regard as the spiritual and political leader of the Ashanti people.

Any perceived challenge to his authority is viewed with great concern and is considered a matter of paramount importance.

The summons to Manhyia Palace puts Chairman Wontumi in the spotlight, as he is expected to provide clarification on the statements attributed to him and demonstrate respect for the institution of the Asantehene.

The outcome of this meeting may have implications not only for Chairman Wontumi’s standing within the NPP but also for the broader relationship between the party and the Asanteman Traditional Council.

As the political landscape becomes intertwined with traditional institutions, this incident highlights the delicate balance that must be maintained between political discourse and respect for cultural and traditional values in Ghana.

The nation awaits the resolution of this matter as it unfolds within the walls of Manhyia Palace.
