Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is undergoing a medical at Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of his initial loan move, sources have confirmed to 90min.
The Dutchman is set to join the Bundesliga side for the rest of the 2023/24 season with game-time hard to come by at Old Trafford.
90min reported last week Frankfurt had agreed terms with United to take Van de Beek on an initial loan with an option to buy for roughly £15m. Should this clause be triggered, United stand to make a loss of £25m on the midfielder.
Frankfurt want Van de Beek to join up with their first-team squad as soon as possible to help him settle in ahead of their return from Germany’s winter break. They play their final Bundesliga game of 2023 on Wednesday at home to Borussia Monchengladbach and return to action on January 13 away at RB Leipzig.

Under the guidance of new manager Dino Toppmoller, Frankfurt have progressed to the knockout round play-off of the Europa Conference League where they will meet Union Saint-Gilloise, while they currently sit eighth in the Bundesliga.
Van de Beek has failed to prove his worth at United since signing from Ajax in 2020, even with his former boss in Amsterdam – Erik ten Hag – joining the club in 2022. He has featured just 26 times for the Red Devils since the start of the 2021/22 season and has played only 21 minutes this term.
Ajax, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Girona and Real Sociedad were all interested in a January deal for Van de Beek, but Frankfurt moved quickly to thrash out a deal with United.
