Sports Minister Kofi Adams extols CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe for his positive views on Ghana Sports

Kofi Adams, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, has praised Dr. Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), for his positive views on sports in Ghana.

Dr. Motsepe was in Accra over the weekend to attend the 2025 Africa School Championship, held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. After meeting with Dr. Motsepe, Adams shared his thoughts on the CAF president’s strong connection to Ghana and his commitment to the development of sports in the country.

“I believe apart from South Africa, where he comes from, the next country he loves is Ghana. He has good thoughts about Ghana in terms of football and beyond the game,” Adams told Asempa FM. He emphasized that Dr. Motsepe’s interest extends beyond just football, highlighting the president’s broader commitment to sports.

“Despite showing a strong interest in football, he also has an interest in other sports, which is a good thing,” Adams added. The Minister also noted that Dr. Motsepe encouraged Ghana to continue focusing on grassroots sports development. “He encouraged us to continue investing in other grassroots sports,” he stated.

In addition to his engagements with the sports community, Dr. Motsepe also paid a visit to former President John Mahama upon his arrival in Ghana.
