GOC congratulates newly elected President Richard Akpokavie and executive members

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has extended its congratulations to newly elected President Richard Akpokavie and the other newly elected executives.

The elections, held on April 26, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre, saw Akpokavie secure 44 votes to defeat his opponent, Michael Aggrey, who garnered 19 votes.

A message from the GOC read:

A heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Richard Akpokavi Esq on his well-deserved election as President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC). Your visionary leadership and lifelong commitment to sports excellence inspire confidence as you take on this important role.

We also  extend our warmest  congratulations to Mr. Kassim Muniru Mohammed on his election as Secretary General. Your professionalism and dedication to the advancement of sports administration in Ghana are truly commendable.

Additionally, congratulations to all the newly elected board members. Your collective expertise, passion, and leadership will undoubtedly steer the GOC toward a future of greater achievement and impact.

As you embark on this new chapter, we look forward to supporting your efforts and working together to promote the Olympic ideals and elevate Ghanaian sports to new heights.
