The family of the late Comfort Agyepong (née Adjoa Badu), mother of former New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, has announced the details of her final funeral rites.

In a press release sighted by GhanaWeb, the family indicated that the final funeral rites of Adjoa Badu, whose husband was one of the three High Court judges murdered on June 30, 1982, will be held on April 24, 2025, at the Forecourt of the State House.

The family expressed their gratitude to the public for the support shown following the demise of their beloved mother.

“With deep sorrow but gratitude for a life well lived, the Agyepong family announces the final funeral arrangements for their beloved mother, Mrs Comfort Agyepong (née Adjoa Badu), the wife of the late Hon. Justice Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong, one of the three High Court judges murdered on June 30, 1982.

“Her unwavering fortitude, endurance and grace in coping with the traumatic loss of her husband left an indelible mark on the nation’s heart,” part of the statement reads.

Kwabena Agyepong announced his mother’s passing in a Facebook post on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

In the post, the former NPP General Secretary and former flagbearer aspirant of the NPP, described his mother as ‘a pillar of strength, love, and resilience.’

“With a heavy heart, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Mrs Comfort Agyepong (née Adjoa Badu), on February 18, 2025.

“She was a pillar of strength, love, and resilience. She now rests with my father, Justice Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong,” he wrote.
