President John Dramani Mahama has so far appointed seven(7) hardworking women to serve as ministers in his 2025 government. These women are helping to manage important areas of the country.
Here are the 7 female ministers and the work they are doing:
1. Abla Dzifa Gomashie – Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts
Dzifa Gomashie has long worked in arts and culture. She was a deputy minister in this same ministry between 2013 and 2017. Now, she is the main minister and also the MP for Ketu South. She started work in January 2025.
2. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare – Minister for Trade, Industry, and Agribusiness
She is a lawyer and former Minister for Tourism. In 2025, President Mahama gave her a new job. She now helps grow businesses, trade, and farming industries in Ghana.
3. Emelia Arthur – Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development
Emelia Arthur used to be a deputy regional minister. In this new role, she looks after Ghana’s fishing and fish farming activities. She began work in January 2025.
4. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey – Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection
She is the MP for Krowor. She was chosen to lead the ministry that supports women, children, and the vulnerable in society. Though she missed the official swearing-in, she later started her duties.
5. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey – Eastern Regional Minister
Rita Awatey is the minister in charge of the Eastern Region. She works to improve development and government services in that area.
6. Linda Ocloo – Greater Accra Regional Minister
Linda Ocloo is a former MP for Shai Osudoku. Now she manages the Greater Accra Region. She is passionate about helping young people and improving education.
7. Charity Gardner – Ahafo Regional Minister
Charity Gardner was appointed as the Ahafo Regional Minister. She is responsible for making sure government programs in the region are going well. She also works to promote peace, development, and better living conditions in Ahafo.
