Social media commentator Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has stirred debate with his controversial takes on the recent marriage of Emmanuel Kofi Tetteh George (affectionately called Biggie), younger brother of Member of Parliament Sam George, and his newlywed wife, Ruth Ewoenam.
The couple tied the knot on April 12, 2025, in a ceremony that drew public attention. However, Bongo Ideas took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his cynical perspective on the union, suggesting that financial stability, rather than love, was the foundation of their relationship.
In a series of tweets, he wrote:
“Women do not have spec…even if she’s not physically attracted to you, so long as you can provide, she gon stay! Size & looks only matter when you’re broke & can’t meet her material standards. So long as her love is purchasable, the highest bidder gonna win. Congrats, Biggie!”
He further claimed that the couple met on Snapchat, implying that Ruth’s decision to stay with Biggie was influenced by factors beyond romance.
“The funny thing is, they met on Snapchat! The girl didn’t know him until after their first date or so, and she decided to stick around! It can’t just be love; some key conditions were met, and they’re largely tied to financial stability, pedigree, and status.”
His remarks quickly drew backlash, with some users defending the couple. One X user, Kwame Ato, countered: “They both live and work in Germany. This is true love. If they were in Ghana then I’d have agreed with you.”
However, Bongo Ideas stood his ground, replying:
“The conditions of love apply everywhere. The bottom line is every woman out there is looking for a provider! Nothing more, nothing less.”
The exchange has sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporting his blunt analysis while others accuse him of undermining genuine relationships. As the debate continues, the couple has yet to publicly respond to the commentary.
Bongo Ideas, known for his unfiltered takes on social issues, remains unapologetic, doubling down on his stance that financial security often dictates romantic choices. Whether his views reflect reality or cynicism remains a topic of heated discussion.
