Collins Adomako-Mensah and Yaw Asani Tano
There was a heated clash between the Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako-Mensah, and the National Organizer of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Yaw Asani Tano, on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo on April 9, 2025, over the recent “flight saga” in the country.
Yaw Asani Tano criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the show, accusing them of consistently engaging in propaganda
He referenced the era of former statesman the late J B Danquah, claiming that when it comes to propaganda, the NPP has deep historical roots in it.
Collins, who was also on the panel, did not take the comments lightly.
He fired back at Asani Tano, accusing him of habitually criticizing the NPP unfairly and acting as a mouthpiece for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“I can tell you that the political party I belong to we are also observing you. Maybe, one day, you might meet someone who will respond to you in equal measure,” he warned.
“You accuse the NPP of destroying Ghana. What has the NPP got to do with the current cocaine issue? And what does J B Danquah have to do with the missing cocaine and the money laundering we are talking about?”
“Look, it is unfair. How can you be doing this?” Collins fumed.
He further criticized Asani Tano for backing controversial figures in the government.
“And you are supporting Felix Ofosu Kwakye, who called a Member of Parliament a clown. You are supporting a government spokesperson who is calling a third-time Member of Parliament a clown! Like how?”
Rev Ntim Fordjour made public allegations regarding two suspicious flights that landed at Kotoka International Airport.
He claimed the circumstances pointed to possible drug trafficking and money laundering accusations that stirred controversy and appeared to provoke the government’s response.
